Temporary to cover maternity leave

An opportunity for a Senior Social Worker has become available for a period of up to one year to cover maternity leave applications are invited from professionally qualified Social Workers, with substantial experience as a Social Worker in this area of Adult Care. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a leadership position.

Your role as a Senior Social worker, as part of a dynamic leadership team, will be to ensure a high-quality response, the most effective use of resources and to build on existing, positive relationships with our partner agencies.

Within the Older People and Physical Disabilities Service, which provides assessment services to both Hospital and Community based users, you will have the day to day responsibility of supporting a Team manager in the successful running of a team of Social work and other qualified staff with a wide and diverse range of people and their carers. You will also be responsible for the supervision and professional development needs of some your team, deputising for the Team Manager when and where necessary.

You will have extensive knowledge of the Care Act and a demonstrated understanding of the needs of customers and carers.

There is commitment to personal development and the opportunity to contribute towards the strategic direction of the Department through involvement in working groups.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
