An exciting opportunity exists to join the Private Sector Housing Team delivering diverse services within the private housing sector.
As part of the Community Safety Team, Private Sector Housing is strategically placed to deliver services that improve safety and wellbeing in neighbourhoods. Covering a large and varied area of work, no two days in housing will be the same. This will include the inspection of residential premises and traveller sites, including Houses in Multiple Occupation and empty properties.
Improving the quality, quantity and safety of housing will play a vital role in improving the lives of residents, especially those living in the private rented sector. You will contribute directly towards the improvement of private sector dwelling conditions across the Borough through a variety of informal and formal enforcement action and policy development.
You will work alongside other regulatory services and with other council departments. Partnership working is crucial, and you will work closely with the Community Policing Teams and other key partners. Working with tenants, landlords, businesses and representatives of the Gypsy and Traveller community you will need to be an experienced and confident communicator.
If you have a good working knowledge of housing construction, experience of inspecting residential properties together with the drive to improve neighbourhoods and reduce inequality we would like to hear from you.
