Located at the heart of Weardale, an area of outstanding natural beauty, Wolsingham School is approximately 15 minutes’ drive west of Durham. The school is set in extensive grounds, having benefited from a new building in April 2016.

We are seeking to appoint an Administration and Community Relations Officer to act as a high level administrator and our creative and organisational lead on all manner of community outreach.

There are two key parts to the post:
You will lead on marketing and recruiting new students, writing press releases, overseeing our website and social media, organising public outreach events and ensuring that all manner of internal and external communications are written and produced in a clear, informative and engaging manner.
You will also be a key member of the administrative team, working at Reception, liaising with parents, and handling both complex administrative tasks and the key daily tasks outlined in the Job Description that are essential to running a busy school.

The daily working hours are negotiable and can, for example, be tailored to those who need family-friendly hours. The post will require some evening work when running large events, and for that reason the hours are term-time plus an additional two weeks that can be re-allocated across the year.

If you are highly organised, have drive and initiative, are detailed orientated and are an engaging writer then we would like to hear from you.

Our school is a remarkable place to work. We have a highly dedicated and supportive staff, excellent training opportunities and enthusiastic, well-behaved students who are a pleasure to work with. Our current Year 7 is oversubscribed and the Governors have recently resolved to join a local, high quality Multi Academy Trust so that we provide an even higher standard of education for many more years to come.

We welcome applications regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity or religion. Our school is also committed to the protection and safety of its students. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure DBS check. Durham County Council is an Equal Opportunities Employer. We want to develop a more diverse workforce and we positively welcome applications from all sections of the community. Applicants with disabilities will be invited for interview if the essential job criteria are met.

To request an application pack or arrange a visit or informal meeting with the Head Teacher, Mr Jonathan Ferstenberg, please contact Mrs Jenny Linsley on 01388 527302 / email info@wolsinghamschool.net.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Mr Jonathan Ferstenberg
