We are seeking to appoint two full time Social Workers to work within an Adults Locality Assessment Team.

You must have knowledge of relevant legislation including The Care Act 2014, Safeguarding Adults Legislation Policy The Mental Health Act (amended 2007) and its interface with The Mental Capacity Act 2005, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Continuing Health Care and section 117. You will have the ability to interpret this legislation and apply it to practice while adhering to the Local Authority's statutory responsibilities.

You will have a Social Work qualification (MA or BA in Social Work, Dip SW CQSW or CSS or equivalent) and be registered with the HCPC. You will have experience of working with people (and their carers) with mental health, physical health needs and Learning Disabilities in assessment work and arranging packages of care and an understanding of the reviewing and monitoring process. Experience of managing risk and being involved in the safeguarding process is also essential.

You will have effective communication skills and be committed to equal opportunities, anti-oppressive practice You will have excellent IT skills and the ability to prioritise your workload and diary and manage competing demands.

It is essential that you are able to work as part of a team and using your own initiative and have the ability to identify when support, advice and guidance is required. Maintenance of the Local Authority's social care database including the accurate recording of case observations is essential.

It is also essential that you have a current driving licence and access to a car or means to mobility support.

A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to undertake relevant training as required by the Local Authority is essential.
