The Performance Management & Information Team is responsible for a wide range of services including monitoring the performance of services across Children, People and Families, producing information and statistics to inform decision making, carrying out research projects and development and maintenance of information systems to ensure accurate and effective recording of data.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team to assist in the delivery of this work as a Management Information and Research Officer (MIRO) to cover the area of Public Health and Wellbeing.
Reporting to the Principal MIS Officer (Business Intelligence), the successful applicant will be responsible for the production, analysis and presentation of performance information, including writing of reports. You will collate and analyse data to ensure that information used across the Children, People and Families and Public Health and Wellbeing Groups is accurate and up-to-date and will
provide advice and solutions to operational staff, providing support to others in the use of IT where appropriate.
You will be knowledgeable of management information systems, the use of query languages to extract data from large databases and applying statistical tools and techniques. You should have highly developed skills in analysing data and producing management information. Good communication skills, a flexible approach to work coupled with an ability to work alone and as part of a team are essential.
You will be qualified to a higher education qualification level in a subject with high IT or statistical content or have significant relevant experience.
These posts will primarily be focussed on the production and analysis of Public Health data and associated agenda's. Therefore, knowledge of carrying out research projects, the ability to apply statistical tools and techniques appropriately and experience of producing performance and management information within in this setting would be desirable, but not essential.
