A Senior SEND Officer is required to join the recently expanded SEND Support Service, which manages the Statutory Self-Assessment and Review process for children and young people with Special Educational Needs in North Tyneside. The role will involve effective partnership working with a range of schools and multi-agency professionals to ensure the development of high quality Education, Health and Care Plans for Children and young people in the borough. The role reports to the SEND Team Manager and will involve line manage of a team of SEND Officers. The role also has a strong focus on improving service quality through the analysis of data and key performance measures. Applicants should have a detailed understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation. Applicants should also have excellent communication skills and an ability to deal sensitively with parents and young people in complex situations. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work accurately within tight timescales.
