The National Lottery Community Fund is matching funds from the European Social Fund (ESF) 2014-20 to projects across England that tackle poverty and promote social inclusion.

The Wise Group has been awarded funding to support people in Tyne and Wear who are facing multiple barriers to employment. The programme will help unemployed or economically inactive people to access bespoke one to one support to help them move forward towards employability in terms of confidence, skills and abilities.

Gateshead Council is working in partnership with The Wise Group to deliver Wise Steps in Gateshead helping residents deal with their own personal challenges and support their journey into work, education and training.

Wise Steps presents an exciting opportunity for motivated, results driven individuals to join Gateshead Council as Wise Steps Job Coach.
The Job Coach will deliver a range of specialist employment services to support people through their journey into sustainable employment ensuring contractual obligations and key delivery indicators are achieved.

You will provide high quality support, guidance and mentoring to Gateshead residents to help them move closer to and into work. You will work in a collaborative way with individuals and a network locally based specialist delivery partners to drive transformational change and positively challenge barrier to moving forwards.

It is essential that you have knowledge of barriers to employment, the local labour market and out of work benefits.

You must have an NVQ Level 4 Information Advice & Guidance qualification or be prepared to work towards it.

You must have experience of sourcing and retaining suitable participants onto provision, working to job start and/or job outcome targets, delivering interventions to help unemployed people into work and case management with the ability to broker support with external agencies.

The closing date for applications is midnight Sunday 23 February 2020 and interviews will be held Tuesday 3 March 2020.
