Permanent full time whole time position (working year round with a holiday entitlement)

Lumley Junior School’s Governing Body is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, caring and enthusiastic Caretaker.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

To carry out the general functions as specified in the full job description.

To work alongside the cleaning staff and ensure that the school premises are cleaned in accordance with the cleaning specification.

To monitor any need for repairs and maintenance to the premises and furnishings to ensure safe conditions at all times.

To ensure the outdoor play areas are well maintained and free from hazards.

To ensure the general security and safety of the school’s premises and grounds.
To undertake general porterage duties.

To carry out first line repairs and maintenance indoors and outdoors.

The successful applicant will be joining a team of teachers and support staff whose principle aim is to provide a safe and happy environment in which the children can learn and play together.

The applicant should follow the school’s policies, including those on behaviour management.

The post is permanent but subject to a successful six-month probationary period.
