A full-time vacancy has arisen in the Council’s Housing Options Team for a Temporary Emergency Accommodation Coordinator.

The role is to provide a keyworker service to homelessness households where a duty is owed by the Local Authority to provide interim accommodation.

You will manage a high caseload working closely with customers and internal and external services, ensuring appropriate referrals are made to relevant support services. You will be required to carry out assessments appropriate to individual circumstances and ensure there is a planned and successful move-on from temporary accommodation.

You will be responsible for the collection and monitoring of rental income and act against any breaches of License conditions.

You will be flexible and enthusiastic and committed to delivering an excellent customer service. You will have strong communication and negotiation skills and experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines and be performance driven to ensure your own and the team’s performance targets are met.

A substantial amount of your working hours will be spent lone working in the community.

The post holder will occasionally be involved in circumstances where behaviour could cause some emotional upset and could on occasions come into contact with behaviours that are angry, abusive and threatening.
