Ideally the successful applicant will take up the post in the Summer/Autumn of 2020 for an initial period of 12 months.

The Newcastle Promise Board is seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic independent chair to build on our successes to date and help to drive forward this exciting new partnership between schools, delivering the very best for every child and young person in our city.

The Promise Board is a body representing all of our schools alongside the Local Authority and key partners. Formed in 2018, it has brought schools together to collectively meet the challenges and opportunities facing education providers in the city. The Promise Board are seeking expert and impartial leadership in the form of an Independent Chair who will work on behalf of the Promise Board for a period of 15 days per year on a flexible basis at a rate of £500 per day.

The post holder will have an understanding of the needs of schools in our city, and the passion and commitment to actively bring together all partners to deliver the very best outcomes for children and young people in our city.

Applications are welcomed from those with current or recent experience of headship/school leadership, HMI roles or senior posts within education or with other relevant experience you can bring to the role.
