Woodlawn School is a fully inclusive school catering for pupils 2½ to 18 years with physical, medical, sensory needs and/or moderate learning difficulties.

Due to an increase in pupils on role we have 3x Teaching Assistant roles available within our Secondary department on permanent or fixed term contracts (until 31st August 2021). These posts are 37 hours per week, term time only over 195 days.

We are looking for enthusiastic and outstanding (Grade 6) level 3 practitioners with SEN experience to join us as Teaching Assistants.

You will be part of a class team and part of the role will involve planning and delivering intervention activities for individuals or small groups, working with other staff to evaluate and adjust learning activities, as appropriate, monitoring pupils’ responses and progress against action plans through observation and planned recording.

The post holders will also implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses/needs.

The role will involve providing positive handling for pupils including the
management of behaviour, moving and handling, feeding and personal care, assisting in the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategies.
