Further Information
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Darlington Borough Council as one of two Team Managers in our Children’s Initial Advice Team (CIAT).

The timing of you joining us could not be better. In March 2020 we re-modelled our Children’s Access Point and Children’s First Response Team and launched our Children’s Initial Advice Team (CIAT). As one of two Team Managers you will form part of an operational management team that also includes two Advanced Practitioners. You will lead a strong and committed team who work within an environment that provides the conditions for success that you will benefit from personally and that will help our children in Darlington thrive.

You will work at the heart of a wider multi-agency Children’s Front Door, working alongside early help, police, health, education and other vital partners all working together to help keep children safe. You will join a service where relational practice is embedded and is a natural part of every aspect of practice and leadership.

You will need to be a competent leader with management/supervisory experience, you will need to be someone who promotes positive and pro-active working and who recognises and promotes the need to work effectively with partner agencies.

We are assisted by Leeds City Council as we implement our Strengthening Families approach – Family Valued Programme, helping us on our journey of strengths-based practice to make sure our response to children and their families is an ethos that provides the foundations for the very best service provision.

Through relationship-based practice we work together to ensure that children and their families get the “right service, first time, with no delay”, whether this is by way of family support, early help or social care intervention you will play a pivotal role in applying your skills and knowledge to contribute to the success of our children and their families. It will be important that you have excellent knowledge of contextual safeguarding issues.
