We are now recruiting a Finance Manager to help us to take the next steps on our journey.

The Finance Manager post is key to managing and continually improving the financial health and integrity of Citizens Advice Gateshead. The post holder will manage all aspects of the financial affairs of the charity and its trading subsidiary Society Matters cic, with accountability for day to day financial management, and for providing clarity and visibility in all financial matters, to inform and aid insightful and effective decision-making by the Trustee Board, the Chief Executive and the Leadership and Management team.

The role requires an uncompromising attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement, making best use of technology and resources to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial processes.

Reporting to a Director, this is a hands-on, technical role, with one direct report.

Our ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant who has experience of financial and management reporting within a charity or publicly funded organisation >£1m turnover, including hands-on preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts and returns.

You will have an in-depth, recent working knowledge of managing income and expenditure (including cyclical claims) associated with complex and diverse funding streams including contracts, grants, trusts, foundations, donations, gift aid and trading income; and of all financial services, including payroll, pensions, payables and receivables.

Annual Salary:

£32,000 to £40,000 per annum, depending upon the experience of the candidate and the contribution they can make to the charity.

Hours:

37 hours per week / Monday to Friday / Flexible working / TOIL system / can include remote working
