Our popular and successful school, wish to appoint:

Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN needs in Key Stage 2 (fixed term contract, starting 1st September 2020 or as soon thereafter until 31st August 2021 or when the child leaves Amble First School)

To support children in Key Stage 2
Level 1, Band 2
22.5 hours per week

The posts require:
• a minimum, relevant NVQ level 2 qualification in Early Years such as NNEB, BTEC, or similar
• experience of working in partnership with parents, carers, and other agencies,
• a good standard of written and oral English and Maths.

Duties and key result areas:
• Attend to the personal needs of pupils that may include social, health, physical, hygiene and welfare objectives,
• Supervise and support children in their access of learning including the implementation of Individual Education Plans,
• Assist with the planning of the curriculum,
• Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to the needs of each individual child,
• Actively promote inclusive practice within the classroom setting to ensure acceptance of all children,
• Encourage children to act independently as appropriate and foster self-esteem,
• Encourage children to play and interact with one another,
• Encourage children to engage in, and participate in learning activities lead by the class teacher,
• Encourage children to act independently as appropriate,
• Carry out observations and assessments
• Help set up and tidy the learning environment (indoor and out)
• Ensure that all children are kept safe
