Further Information
Northumberland Youth Service provides youth work with young people aged 13-19 across Northumberland with the aim of assisting them to prepare for adult life. We do this by allowing young people to explore issues in a non judgemental environment. We develop positive relationships and meaningful engagement which encourages them to explore and ask questions. The information they receive from this motivates the young person to make safe, informed decisions. Our work is designed to develop resilience and empathy in young people.

The Participation and Advocacy team within Northumberland Youth Service aims to support all young people to have their voices heard and their opinions taken seriously. To achieve this the Team works with young people in a range of settings and from a diverse background. This will include working with care-experienced young people, young people with SEND, young people with a history of substance misuse or offending, as well as the wider youth population of Northumberland.

The role
We are looking for a positive and proactive Participation Worker to help deliver our service moving forward. This will involve face to face work with young people in both group sessions and other environments, including supporting young people on a one to one basis. You will be given all appropriate training and support to ensure that we continue to offer the best service possible to young people.

You will be expected to be able to work evenings and weekends with young people as needed.
