North Tyneside Council Housing is offering an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, professional and enthusiastic individual to join its Housing Operations team as Tenancy Sustainment Officer. We have three positions available

1 x permanent 29.6 hours per week (equivalent to 4 days)
2 x fixed term for 12 months 37 hours per week

This is an exciting role in a new and developing service area that will work with Officers, Team Leaders and Managers to ensure our tenants are adequately supported to remain in their tenancies and thrive as a valuable member of their community.

The primary purpose of the role of our Tenancy Sustainment Officers is to ensure our tenants sustain their tenancy through proactive intervention and by delivering a range of advice, support, prevention and enforcement measures to ensure tenants needs are met.

You will have an excellent working knowledge of Universal Credit (UC) and other Welfare Benefits. You will have experience of working with vulnerable customers and the ability to quickly develop a good working relationship with them.

You will work primarily with tenants who are dealing with significant change in their lives that means they are in need of additional help and support. For example those applying for UC for the first time or those who are moving into a new tenancy.

You will work as part of a highly motivated team which is proactive and customer focussed to ensure that our tenants are given every opportunity to live life to the fullest. By working with and supporting our tenants we contribute to the housing services aim to deliver clean, safe and thriving places where people want to live

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer care skills and a commitment to delivering high quality customer focused housing services.
