North Tyneside Council are seeking to recruit a Digital Applications Assistant to its highly effective Employment and Skills Service. The service was created in 2017 and was inspected by Ofsted in May 2018 maintaining its ‘Good’ grading.

The service is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with appropriate qualifications and/or relevant experience to develop and support the transformation of the Service’s use of IT and digital applications within its service delivery to help meet the needs of staff and learner/clients’ needs.

The role will is required to maximise the use of digital technologies and adapt to and exploit changes in technology to assist in achieving the Employment and Skills Service vision and key priorities and to maximise productivity.

The successful candidate will lead the technical support and ICT developments for the Employment and Skills Team including the adult learning curriculum network, virtual learning environment and CRM for customer and employer relationships. You will also be required develop streaming, applications and technologies to support and widen access to teaching, learning and employment.

The successful candidate should have a sound knowledge of employment and skills delivery, policy and developments alongside excellent ICT skills including specialist knowledge of operating systems, devices, applications and software. They should also have a knowledge and experience of the use of ICT within an employment and skills environment including MIS/CRM/VLE and curriculum planning tools.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly effective team to further develop our service offer across the Borough of North Tyneside to promote employment and learning to all residents, but also to make a difference to the lives of many vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our local communities.
