North Tyneside Council are seeking to recruit a Digital Marketing and Communications Assistant to its highly effective Employment and Skills Service. The service was created in 2017 and was inspected by Ofsted in May 2018 maintaining its ‘Good’ grading.

The service is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with appropriate qualifications and/or relevant experience to develop and support the transformation of North Tyneside Council Employment and Skills Service’s use of digital marketing and communications channels to build and improve a digital presence that enables effective communications with staff, businesses and customers to effectively promote and deliver our services.

The role will manage digital promotion of the Employment and Skills Service to maximise our digital presence, brand awareness and use of our services; creating dynamic written, graphic, and video content. Contributing to the achievement of the Employment and Skills vision and key objectives by supporting all digital marketing led activity, ensuring all staff, residents, businesses and other key audiences are well informed across all aspects of our service.

The successful candidate should have a sound knowledge of employment and skills delivery, policy and developments, an excellent understanding of the digital marketing landscape end-to-end including Marketing and Communications disciplines, a strong marketing skillset across the entire digital landscape, excellent ICT skills and a sound knowledge of the use of ICT within an employment and skills environment including relevant communications, social media and online learning platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly effective team to further develop our service offer across the Borough of North Tyneside to promote employment and learning to all residents, but also to make a difference to the lives of many vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our local communities.
