Key to this is a committed workforce who always gives their best. Offering a fast paced, progressive working environment, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is a great career move.

The Adults & Communities Directorate consists of three strands, Adult Social Care, Community Development, and Public Health. Our aims are to continue to provide essential and highly valued services and to build capacity to enable local communities to make lasting change, improve quality of life and prosperity. As a directorate we lead on developing a culture of co-operation and co-production, respecting and nurturing the skills and talents of local people and enabling them to fulfil their potential.

The Business Support Officer role is to provide an effective secretarial and administrative support service to Social Care staff in both the Adult Mental Health and Older People's Mental Health Teams. This is a permanent full time post.

The post involves answering telephone calls, collating and processing manual and electronic information, inputting, updating and retrieval of information from systems and data bases pertaining to Adult Social Care Services and Tees, Esk and Wear Valley Mental Health Trust; typing of reports, filing and record keeping, including sorting and distribution of sensitive and confidential information.

The successful candidate will be able to deal with sensitive and confidential information, have excellent communication and coordinating skills; alongside demonstrating robust IT skills.

An awareness and understanding of Mental Health work would be beneficial but not essential. We are looking for an individual who is a team member who will be flexible to support the team and other colleagues in the service.
