County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service (CDDFRS) is seeking to appoint ambitious and forward-thinking individual to the position of Health and Safety Officer. We are looking for an inspiring individual who is motivated by making a real difference through their work. The postholder will be required to establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health and Safety are adhered to, so that the Service is compliant with health and safety legislation and all relevant health and safety guidance.

The post holder will have proven experience, working as a Health and Safety Officer role, or similar, preferably within a multi sited organisation. They will have demonstrable experience in co-ordinating, supporting and advising on all aspects with regards to health and safety and will be required to develop robust policies and procedures in respect of health and safety, assisting or leading, where appropriate in the planning, projects, inspections and audits across the Service.

In return the post offers 26 days annual leave rising to 31 days after 5 years, flexible working hours, provision of uniform, sports facilities, car parking and a pension scheme.
