Gibside School is a Special School providing high quality education for 160 pupils aged between 2-11 years with severe learning difficulties and other complex needs including autism and profound and multiple learning difficulties. We are currently based between 2 school sites in Whickham and Blaydon.

We are excited to be moving to a brand-new building next year and are looking to recruit a Site Manager to join our School team. Initially this role will be to help and support the existing 2 sites but with a key focus on transition to the new school i.e. involvement with current project team and building company, learning about the new building security/set up and then to facilitate the move.

This person will have previous experience within a facilities or site management role, be flexible and proactive with regards to repairs/maintenance and able to set high standards across the school site. They will be responsible for managing the school caretaker(s) and will require good knowledge of Health & Safety, ideally within a school environment. Other skills required include good communication skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders across the school and wider community. Please also refer to our more detailed job profile.
