In order to provide maternity cover within Active Inclusion Newcastle, an Active Inclusion Officer is required to support the council’s City of Sanctuary vision to be a safe and welcoming city, where people new to the city are provided with the support and advice that they need and where links between new arrivals and existing communities are fostered.

The successful candidate will support the development, coordination and evaluation of the City of Sanctuary approach. This will include supporting partnerships, networks and supporters, monitoring and evaluating interventions, coordinating a small grant pot to encourage engagement activity, developing training and information and securing quantitative and qualitative data to inform commissioning/allocation of services.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of the UK asylum system, refugee resettlement programmes or strategies to support refugee integration. You will have experience of working in partnership, in a multi-agency sector, to translate policy aspirations into measurable and effective delivery. The successful candidate will have the ability to support, encourage and enthuse partners, including those not already engaged, to facilitate and support refugee integration.
