The Wheelchair Service in Sunderland is seeking to recruit a Wheelchair Assessor, with a qualification in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Nursing, to work with adults and children.

The post involves assessment of the mobility needs of the person, their posture and tissue viability and their family/carers and environment, leading to the provision of advice, guidance, and appropriate equipment to facilitate safe posture and mobility.

The post is based within Sunderland’s Independent Living Centre, with opportunities for agile, flexible and home working.

The post holder will be responsible for the management of their caseload under the supervision of their manager. Candidates should have well developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to create excellent therapeutic relationships and work creatively with their customers.

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
