A vacancy has arisen within the AHS, Resources & Regeneration, and Commercial, Capital & Treasury Finance Teams for three Accountancy Assistants. One of the posts is full time permanent and two are full time temporary. One of the temporary posts is to backfill cover for a period of maternity leave until approximately the end of April 2021 or until the return of the substantive post from Maternity leave, whichever is sooner. The other temporary post is required initially until the end of March 2021.
The post holders will assist in the production of annual revenue and capital budgets, budgetary control information and final accounts closedown. To ensure that the needs of the Finance Team is adequately maintained and to carry out routine reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
The post holders will be directly accountable to the Principal Accountant and will be involved in supporting the Principal Accountant in maintaining and developing financial monitoring and reporting systems, placing reliance on data held in the corporate systems currently in existence to provide robust, logical and regular forecasts of outturn and future budget requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain further experience in providing financial support to service teams and undertaking key balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
Candidates should have attained NVQ level 3 or equivalent or Level 2/3 and relevant experience in working in a busy finance environment. Ideally candidates will be actively studying for or have the Association of Accounting Technicians qualification (or equivalent), have experience of operating a computerised financial management system and have good numeracy skills.
