This post is based at the centre of the council in the Resources Directorate which has key responsibility for managing the Council’s money and people as well as ensuring that democratic decisions are well informed and legally sound.

You will provide financial advice and support to the Council's Adult Social Care and Public Health functions during a period of significant challenges and opportunities. Previous experience in these areas would be an advantage but not an essential requirement.

The role will provide a high level of quality in financial management in relation to the following functional areas:
- Budget monitoring and assurance
- Medium Term Financial Planning and Budget setting.
- Supporting the development of business cases for new initiatives and capital investments across the Council
- Driving improvements in the way we provide financial and performance management support to our customers.

The role requires strong and effective communication skills, including the ability to deal with customers who possess varying levels of financial skill.
