There are four roles currently available – one is a 12-month maternity cover in the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub.

Two roles are in the Social Work Assessment Teams.

The final role is in the Safe and Supported teams, undertaking long term work with our children and young people.

As a Social Worker in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, The Social Work Assessment Team and Safe and Supported Team, you will be passionate about ensuring that children and young people in the Borough get the right help at the right time and that they have a voice in the work that you do. If you are committed to getting the right outcomes for children, young people and their families then this job could be for you.

You will be a qualified Social Worker who preferably has experience in Children’s Safeguarding including undertaking assessments, carrying out s47 Investigations, working with children and their families on a Child in Need Plan, a Child Protection plan or within a Legal Framework as well as with children who are cared for by North Tyneside. You will have the skills to work in partnership with partner agencies such as health colleagues, Independent Reviewing Officers, Housing and Police to name a few.

You will have IT that supports you to do your job well allowing you to be truly flexible in your with 2 in 1 devices that are mobile through the use of SIM cards, smartphones that connect to your 2 in 1 and support with work based assessments if you need this. You will be based alongside your colleagues in a modern office building with the collocation of social work teams, access to managers and senior managers as well as others such as our participation team, fostering team and Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub.

You will be appointed to Grade 8 or 9 depending on your qualifications and experience.
Grade 8 - £27,741 - £31,346 pa
Grade 9 - £32,234 - £35,745 pa
