Further Information
We have grown and expanded since our newly transformed Children's Front Door went live in 2020 and there has never been a better time to join Darlington Borough Council’s Children’s Services.

We are assisted by Leeds City Council as we implement our Strengthening Families approach – Family Valued Programme, helping us on our journey of strengths-based practice to make sure our response to children and their families is an ethos that provides the foundations for the very best service provision.

Through relationship-based practice we work together to ensure that children and their families get the “right service, first time, with no delay”, whether this is by way of family support, early help or social care intervention you will play a pivotal role in applying your skills and knowledge to contribute to the success of our children and their families.

In 2020 we re-modelled our existing Children’s Access Point (CAP) and formed the Children’s Initial Advice Team (CIAT) to further strengthen Darlington’s Children’s Front Door Service and so the timing of you joining us could not be better,

As a social worker in CIAT you will work at the heart of a wider multi-agency front door, working alongside early help, police, health, education and other vital partners all working together to help keep children safe. Relational practice is embedded and is a natural part of every aspect of practice and leadership and you will join a strong and committed team who work within an environment that provides the conditions for success that you will benefit from personally and that will help our children in Darlington thrive!

If you have excellent communication skills, you are someone who works positively and pro-actively with families and partner agencies and you are an experienced social worker who has worked with children and families then this is an opportunity not to be missed.
