Permanent Contract

Are you a highly motivated self-starter with excellent organisational skills? Do you want to be part of an award winning organisation that makes a difference? If so, Family Action has an exciting opportunity and would love to hear from you.

You will join Family Action at an exciting time, coordinating our new Perinatal Support Service. The service will build on our other successful and established Perinatal services and be a valuable addition to current Family Action Support Services within Stockton, working alongside our Family Outreach and Volunteering Service.

Family Action is a charity that transforms lives by providing practical, emotional and financial support to those who are experiencing poverty, disadvantage and social isolation. We have been building stronger families since 1869 and today we work with over 60,000 families a year in around 160 community based services, as well as supporting thousands more through our national programmes and our grants programmes.

As Project Coordinator you will lead the development and delivery of this dynamic new project and manage day–to–day service delivery, with expert support from the Service Manager. Highly personable with strong leadership skills, you will be a motivational manager for our perinatal coordinators and support workers, and oversee our volunteers. You will ensure that co-production is embedded within the service and lead and contribute to its development with stakeholders. You will work closely with Family Action’s Outcome and Influencing team and commissioned evaluators to evidence the service’s outcomes.

The project is an early intervention, low intensity service for those with low level (mild to moderate) mental health issues. To join us as Project Coordinator you’ll be knowledgeable about the needs of mothers, babies and their families during the perinatal stage, with a sound understanding of how mental health issues can affect relationships in a family setting and impact infants and babies.

To be successful you will have a recognised qualification (Degree or NVQ 3 / 4) in social work or social care, health, education or equivalent experience. With excellent interpersonal skills, you’ll be adept at working within multidisciplinary teams and be able to engage a range of audiences. You’ll have demonstrable experience coordinating an outcome focused service.

The role is homebased and you will be required to travel regularly to community hubs/localities.

We are forward looking, ambitious and with a commitment to continuous improvement. We are a people focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operate with mutual respect. If you share these values and behaviours and have the necessary skills then we look forward to hearing from you.

In return we can offer you flexible working, generous leave entitlements, eye care vouchers, a cycle to work scheme and other great benefits. We have an excellent wellbeing offer and we’ll invest in your professional development with on-going quality training and career development opportunities. You’ll have the opportunity to work for an established, supportive and high-performing organisation which is innovative, non-hierarchical and values your opinion.
