The Governors of Fishburn Primary School wish to appoint a Supervisory Assistant to supervise pupils during the lunchtime period (12.00 noon to 1.15pm). The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and of working well in a team.
Duties include:
• Supervising the washing of hands and entry of the children into the dining hall.
• Supervising children during lunchtimes in school and on the playground
• Encouraging children with food, promoting good manners and healthy choices
• Assisting with clearing tables, wiping down and maintaining cleanliness of the lunch area
• Communicating with children, maintaining good behaviour in line with school policies and being willing to arrange and play games
• Being responsible for the care and supervision of the children before, during and after the meal from the close of the morning session until the start of the afternoon session.
• Assist in first aid.

This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
