Part of the Eden Academy Trust family of schools, Hexham Priory is a school for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties aged 2 to 19 years.

We are seeking to appoint Level Two Teaching Assistants to join our well established team. Posts available are both permanent full and part time and specific purpose to cover maternity leave to start as soon as possible. Some posts will be for September 2021 commencement of the new academic year.

Previous experience of working with children and/or working with children or young people with learning difficulties is desirable. The successful applicant must be able to work as part of a team as well as being able to use initiative when appropriate.

The successful candidates will be expected to work with pupils of all ages and to undertake all activities as required during their time at the school.

The successful candidates will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the class in the management of pupils. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the normal teaching area, which may include swimming, riding for the disabled etc.

The candidate must have GCSE Grades 5-9 in English and Maths (or equivalent) and good IT skills and an appropriate NVQ2 in classroom/education support.
