As part of a joint working arrangement with Cleveland Police, the Community Safety Team covers a wide range of enforcement responsibilities and is looking to employ four Civil Enforcement Officers who will undertake a varied range of duties including patrolling public car parks and other public spaces and enforcing against environmental crime such as fly-tipping.
The post holder will be required to engage with members of the public and others in order to ensure legal compliance in a wide range of issues such as parking and traffic management, dog control, littering and fly tipping and where necessary, will issue Penalty Charge Notices, Fixed Penalty Notices and enforce other legal remedies including prosecution.
Due to the nature of the job, the post holder will be required to wear a uniform and work outdoors, occasionally in poor weather. The post holder will be required to work a 37 hours per week on a shift pattern, which includes Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. There may also be a requirement to carry out some additional enforcement outside of the fixed core working hours (8am-6pm) for which overtime will be paid.
