We are looking to recruit an Assistant Team Manager to support our continued drive for improvement and achieve our vision of providing a Better Childhood in Hartlepool. The post holder will be responsible for a small caseload and will provide reflective supervision, support and modeling for social workers. The post holder will have a lead role in mentoring and developing newly qualified social workers as part of the Local Authority ASYE programme. The post holder will be expected to deputise in the team manager’s absence and support the team manager in attending and chairing meetings.

Currently we are also offering an annual retention payment to experienced Social Workers, Assistant Team Managers & Team Managers

Our most recent Ofsted inspection judged us as being ‘good’ regarding the effectiveness of our safeguarding services and outcomes for children and young people and “outstanding” for children who are looked after. Our most recent Ofsted focus visit reaffirmed our “good” status and Ofsted all so noted that we have continued to improve on our journey to “outstanding”

The welfare of our staff is paramount and during the Covid pandemic we have ensured that all safety measures are in place and risk assessments have been completed to cover office/home working, home visiting and face to face contact with parents/carers and their children.

You should possess a recognised Social Work qualification that permits registration with Social Work England. It is desirable that you have obtained a Post Qualifying Award and/or Practice Teachers/Educators Award.

We are looking for reflective practitioners who are committed to continuous improvement, who have a proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with children, families and stakeholders. You must have good communication & assessment skills, be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
