This is an exciting opportunity if you have Primary Headteacher experience and want to work strategically alongside colleagues to help our children meet their full potential.

Can you be empathetic, supportive and an effective communicator but unafraid to challenge if it’s necessary? Can you be flexible, adaptable and forward looking and have the vision and commitment to build on the existing exciting developments within our schools? Do you have a positive, solutions focused approach and recent expertise in curriculum development? Do you have knowledge and understanding of pedagogy and issues in education, including curriculum and development? If so, then you may be the candidate we are looking for.

You will:

have qualified teacher status, successful Headteacher experience in the primary sector and have knowledge of inspection and be willing to undertake training as an Ofsted Inspector; have a thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum, including how this translates to a school curriculum, statutory and formative assessment; have the ability to work with leaders in schools to bring about improved outcomes for children and to analyse and use a range of quantitative and qualitative data in a school improvement context; have the ability to plan, provide and evaluate effective training, to lead and to work as a member of a team and to communicate information clearly, orally and in writing; have knowledge of how effective school governing bodies function and knowledge and understanding of creating an inclusive school.

You will also have:

experience of successfully improving the quality of teaching and learning in order to raise children’s achievement over a sustained period of time; experience of using the outcomes from school self-evaluation to plan effectively for school improvement; experience of holding staff to account for the impact of their work and experience of delivering training and CPD to a range of audiences.

Outlined in your application letter you should demonstrate your in-depth knowledge and understanding of a specific aspect of the curriculum and/or pedagogy.

In return we can offer:

partnership working within a mutually supportive forward-thinking school community; the opportunity to work within a friendly, open, highly experienced team and the chance to innovate and develop school improvement creatively.
