Applications are welcome from experienced teachers as well as outstanding NQTs.

Our children want a teacher who:

You will have full responsibility for the teaching, learning and assessment of a class, delivering all subjects of the National Curriculum. It is anticipated that the post will be in EYFS or KS1, but could be open to negotiation, depending on the strengths and experience of the successful candidate.

Bowburn Junior School amalgamated with Bowburn Infants and Nursery School in September 2019 to become Bowburn Primary School. We recently moved into a brand new, purpose- built school building on one site in April 2021.

Durham County Council and Bowburn Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.

Where our roles are customer facing and you are required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. As a disability confident employer, we are committed to employing disabled people and people with health conditions making reasonable adjustments to support disabled applicants when required.

Socially distanced visits to the school are welcomed. Please contact Mrs Allyson Simpson, school office manager, to make an appointment for the following dates and times: Wednesday 9th June 2021 at 4pm or 4.30pm.
