This has been helped by leaders’ clarity and determination to succeed” (December, 2019). Norham recognises that its staff are its greatest asset and this is evident through our extensive CPD programme and through staff benefits and rewards.

Norham High School is fully pupil-centred and enables pupils to have a real voice in our current and future improvements through our pupil council and other pupil leadership opportunities. As a result, our pupils are polite, behaviour is calm and staff and pupil relationships are positive (Ofsted, December 2019).

You will join a multi-disciplinary team who provide high quality and effective support for pupils with a range of additional educational needs in a department with strong leadership (Ofsted, December 2019). You will work with some of our most vulnerable pupils, including those with special educational needs.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual to deliver English and literacy to small classes, groups and on a 1:1 basis. This will include a combination of delivering the national curriculum for English and the delivery of our Read, Write, Inc. Fresh Start interventions. In addition, the successful applicant will also deliver some of our social skills and SEMH interventions on to small groups.

This role is designed to support our pupils with additional needs to make academic progress in order to enable them to achieve the best possible outcomes at Key Stage 4. The successful applicant will work between our mainstream provision and our ARP. Responsibilities may also include delivering CPD/training within the department and in the whole school.
