Salary: £20,904 - £21,748 plus additional allowances of up to £5000 per annum will be paid for sleep in's (at the rate of £81 per sleep in's) the following enhancements to pay may also apply to this role: time and a third for hours worked after 10pm, time and a half for Sunday working and double time for bank holidays.

We are seeking to recruit suitable people to work within our Children’s Homes.

The homes provide care for a small number of children and young people and are situated in the Middlesbrough area.

We are committed to Restorative Practice when working with young people and their families.

The successful candidates will provide a high quality of care and support, which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioural, health, social and cultural needs of the children and families for whom the home provides a service.

This will include working with children with very challenging behaviour, complex emotional problems, mental health disorders and other additional/special needs.

The successful candidates will be based initially in a named Home, but will be expected to be prepared to work in any Middlesbrough Children’s Home or Centre as needed, or to work with children who are living in the community or within their own homes.

Applicants must:

Have NVQ/Diploma Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification or a qualification that the management deems equivalent (including HSC375 Medication Unit or equivalent medication experience) or a willingness to work towards.

Experience of working with children and young people.

An understanding of child development and challenging behaviour.

A positive attitude and restorative approach when working with children and young people.

Be enthusiastic and motivated to support young people and families within the community and residential setting.

You will also be required to work unsocial hours - including weekends, early mornings, evenings, school holidays, bank holidays, waking nights and sleep in’s.

A Full UK Driving License is a requirement for this post.
