The post on offer is based at the centre of the council in the Resources Directorate which has key responsibility for managing the Council’s money and people as well as ensuring that democratic decisions are well informed and legally sound.

The Council is changing the way we deliver our IT Service and are reshaping the way the service impacts not only on the delivery of the Council’s business but also how it can help to radically improve the economy by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of all our IT-supported business processes. As such we are looking to recruit a creative and enthusiastic individual who will be instrumental in leading and delivering this new service.

You will be part of the Support Services Team within the IT Service as defined in the IT workplan. This will include, but is not limited to, providing 1st line support and assistance to around 2000 system users across all service areas and sites and timely management of incidents and requests.

The successful candidate will have good customer service skills, some IT experience including desktop operating systems and applications, have a proven track record of working on an ICT Service Desk within an ITIL framework would be advantages.

The job offers a great position with good potential to develop, apply and strengthen your existing skills, knowledge, and experience by way of real practical application. Opportunities to gain a broad range of experience in many aspects of support services such as but not limited to Microsoft applications and infrastructure, telephony and related application software.

Experience or knowledge of Public sector system’s and service support is desirable.
