This is a new post based in Education within the Foundation for Jobs Careers Team.

The past year has been a difficult one for everyone, but children and young people have been particularly impacted by the pandemic, experiencing a great deal of disruption to their education.

We have an opportunity for a dynamic, self-motivated, and enthusiastic person who has suitable experience and wants to work with young people to help raise their aspirations and support them to take the first steps towards their career goals. The role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work within a highly motivated, and knowledgeable team and to provide complementary value to the support already provided for young people in the Borough.

We are looking to recruit 2 Young Person's Transition Mentors for a fixed period of 6 months to work with young people leaving Year 11 and Year 12, to support their successful transition and sustainment to and in post 16 education, employment, or training.

The council holds ambassador status for the North East Better Health at Work Award.

We offer very attractive terms and conditions of employment, including generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working hours (where appropriate), membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to numerous other salary sacrifice schemes and staff benefits/discounts, including a lease car scheme.
