Further Information
Deputy Facilities Manager
Whickham is a school where everyone is valued and where learning is cherished in a safe, caring and supportive environment. A school where everyone is inspired to be the best they can be.
We are seeking to recruit a Deputy Premises Manager. This is an amazing opportunity for someone to develop their skills and talents with us.
The role involves studying for a two year, nationally recognised level 4* qualification in Facilities Management (* subject to experience and prior qualifications elements of the training may be at a higher level). You will learn about our systems, manage staff and contribute to the development of our Facilities Management provision. At the end of the training period we expect you to take on a more senior role as it becomes available.
The postholder will support the Premises Manager by taking delegated responsibility for managing the academy buildings and grounds. This includes working alongside senior staff within the academy, making appropriate recommendations and planning a rolling programme of premises maintenance, repair and improvement.
The training programme has significant academic rigour and would be suitable for graduates or candidates with Level 3 qualifications with relevant experience.
Specific details regarding the role and skills and qualities that the successful candidate will need to demonstrate are in the attached job description and person specification. A summary of key information about the role is detailed below:
This is a development role. As your skills grow and your training progresses, you will be given more responsibility.
You will manage staff.
You will be responsible for delivering outcomes to the budget.
You will be part of a team who strive to ensure that our pupils are the best they can be and that all barriers to learning are addressed.
The role is for 37 hours per week, all year round, which can include occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends.
Applications should be uploaded to the TES by 9am on Monday 26th July 2021.
