North Yorkshire County Council – SEND Campaign Inclusion / Disabled Children’s Service Opportunities

We have opportunities to join our Inclusion Service to support young people within North Yorkshire.

About our Service:

In North Yorkshire we believe that every child should have the opportunity to reach their full potential. A place of opportunity where all children and young people are happy, healthy and achieving.

We also believe that children and young people with special educational needs and /or disabilities should have the opportunity to live within a family environment wherever possible and should have access to the support they need to achieve their longer term ambitions.

Our Inclusion Service is made up of a range of complementary services including the specialist disabled children’s service four multidisciplinary locality hubs undertaking statutory assessment for Education, Health and Care Plans and offering holistic support for children and young people with SEND.

We are ambitious in our plans to make certain high quality local provision meets the identified care and educational needs of children and young people.

This vision for education provision for children and young people with SEND builds on both the SEND Strategic Plan for Educational Provision and the Young and Yorkshire 2 plan. The SEND Strategic Plan for Educational Provision is an ambitious five-year plan, which describes how we intend to transform services and educational provision for children and young people with SEND in North Yorkshire.

In the last year, we have established four multidisciplinary locality hubs offering holistic support for children and young people with SEND, and we are also developing a network of Targeted Mainstream Provisions in schools. Our Inclusion colleagues are pivotal to this development, working with our specialist teams and hub managers to ensure we have the right support in place at the right time. It’s the perfect time to join us to help us fulfil our ambitions working innovatively with our multi-agency partnerships.

You will have diverse and varied work, professional development and the opportunity to shape innovative practice. You will have the opportunity to have a very visible career; building your professional network, with work that is recognised both regionally and nationally. We are very much a learning forward-thinking authority; we learn, listen and shape continually.

We are looking for highly motivated and dynamic individuals who can shape innovative practice and are committed to providing evidence-based services that are valued by children and their families.
