Further Information
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Housing Strategy and Partnerships Officer to join our newly developed Strategic Housing Service. Housing services are changing at a fast pace in Gateshead, with a new vision for housing being developed and a large-scale Housing Review underway, which has already seen the recent reintegration of our ALMO back into the Council. We have real ambition to develop the new Strategic Housing Service further to ensure we lead the way in delivering the Councils broader Thrive Vision, in addition to the objectives set out in our Housing Strategy.

Reporting to the Strategic Housing Services Manager, you will lead and support the development and implementation of the Council’s core Housing Strategies and delivery plans as well as facilitating and enabling successful partnership working, to help ensure achievement of the Council’s strategic aims and outcomes. These strategies will include but not be limited to; homelessness, empty homes, affordable housing, regeneration, anti-social behaviour and private sector housing strategy.

It is essential that you have a degree level or equivalent qualification and that you have a good understanding of housing, health and/or planning policy and issues, as well as Gateshead’s Thrive agenda, Housing and Health & Wellbeing strategies. We also require that you have a good understanding of the regulatory environment for housing, external funding regimes, effective partnership working, best practice, and effective strategy and policy development and that you are able to identify, analyse and critically evaluate data and information.

You will have experience of delivering excellent verbal and written communication, successful relationship management of key partners and stakeholders, as well as liaison with government departments. We also require that you have experience of the successful development and delivery of strategic, programme and/or project plans. It will be essential that you can identify strategic, policy and project risks and issues, and their resolution in addition to having experience of completing housing related funding applications and managing funding streams and programmes.
