We are looking to appoint a caring person sympathetic to the needs of the bereaved to work as a Bereavement Advisor in the Bereavement Services Administrative Office.

The successful applicant will be flexible and have the ability to work as part of a small team. Good interpersonal and telephone skills are essential as the job involves daily contact with funeral directors, stonemasons, officiants and bereaved families, either in person at reception or by telephone. The duties include using a computerised system to book burials/cremations and the completion of statutory records using both manual and computerised systems. Part of the job involves assisting bereaved families with memorialisation, purchase of graves, answering general queries and taking complaints.

Excellent literacy, numeracy and keyboarding skills are essential. And previous experience of working with the bereaved or in a similar working environment would be advantageous.
