learningSkills Vocational would like to recruit a Vocational Development Officer (fixed term to July 2022) to deliver high quality training programmes and apprenticeships to learners in a range of venues and educational settings.

You must be occupationally competent in the specialist field of Career Guidance in order to deliver a variety of accredited and non-accredited programmes to cater for the variety of roles and responsibilities of learners within the Vocational specialism. You must hold a teaching qualification (level 4) and have experience of both classroom delivery and vocational delivery within the workplace. The role requires you to have an assessment qualification D32,D33/ A1/TAQA, a current, full driving licence and access to car or means to mobility support as you will be required to travel to e.g visit employers/apprentices. There will also be an element of development work associated with the role.

It is essential that you will be committed to anti-discriminatory practices, and be knowledgeable around current teaching, learning and assessment practice/strategies and have a subject specialism, to be able to deliver Careers Guidance programmes. You will be familiar with relevant subject specialism occupational standards the occupational standards along with an understanding of apprenticeship standards, Ofsted, QCA and awarding body guidance.

Experience of apprenticeship delivery including assessment and internal verification and teaching adults following educational frameworks in a range of settings is paramount to the post. There will be a range of administrative skills required associated with the post and you will be expected to act on your own initiative, work in a number of outreach locations and with colleagues as part of a team. Vocational experience within the appropriate vocational sector is essential and an appropriate qualification in Career Guidance or equivalent, is desirable.
