An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join North Tyneside’s Adult Front Door. The position is for an experienced Social Worker to join the Gateway Duty Team which is an integral part of the Adult Social Care response to our residents and a partner of the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub.

Opportunities available:
1 x 37 hour per week, permanent role.
1 x 37 hour per week, fixed term for 12 months role.

As apart of the Front- Door service we respond to all enquires where there is no active social work involvement. The role is varied and never two days are the same. We work with adults in crisis that may have or may not have Care Act eligible needs. We work using an asset or strengths based approach which encourages and supports people to find their own solutions to difficulties but when necessary we will commission temporary services to promote their independence and choice until a full Wellbeing Assessment is completed.

You should have considerable knowledge of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act. You should be able to apply the principles of both in your day to day work. A robust approach to Safeguarding Adults is essential and you need to have good working knowledge of the Safeguarding Adults policy and procedures which includes Making Safeguarding Personal. An understanding of Continuing Health Care is useful.

You must be an enthusiastic team player who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for the residents of North Tyneside. All applicants will need to demonstrate a positive attitude towards change, be good team players who are committed to personal and professional development.

You will be appointed to Grade 8 or 9 depending on your qualifications and experience.
Grade 8 - £27,741 - £31,346 pa
Grade 9 - £32,234 - £35,745 pa

A Social Work Degree; DIP SW; CQSW; CSS qualification is essential for the post and proof of registration with Social Work England is required.
