JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for someone to join our Waste Strategy Team to assist in the completion of waste management/recycling data, statistics and performance indicators in relation to recycling schemes, projects and contracts, Civic Amenity Site(s) and Waste Disposal Contracts. Working with Excel spreadsheets to collate data and produce reports as required for Waste Data Flow, BVPI’s and other relevant management regimes.

As well as being involved in the processing and analysis of data, you will also gain knowledge and experience in many other fields. This will include an understanding of waste management, waste operations, administration and elements of customer service.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: All candidates are required to meet the essential requirements set out below. Please address in your application how you meet the following:

• Functional skills English & Maths Level 2 / GCSE Grade C / 4 or above
• IT Skills – Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
• Good communication skills - listening, spoken and written
• Experience of working as part of a team
• Organised with a good attention to detail.
• Demonstrate the Council’s Behaviours which underpin the Culture Statement.
• Motivated and positive attitude

APPRENTICESHIP QUALIFICATION: You will be given appropriate paid time off work, to attend college and work towards completion of a Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship qualification. PLEASE NOTE: You must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in the same or similar subject.

APPRENTICESHIP BENEFITS: We offer an excellent benefits package for apprentices. You will be given a fixed term contract allowing you sufficient time to complete your apprenticeship qualification (see below), with the potential to secure a longer-term position to grow within the organisation. We will provide you with a dedicated Mentor to support you during your apprenticeship and you will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement as well as access to a number of additional employee benefits and additional learning and development opportunities.

APPRENTICESHIP DURATION: 27 months

SALARY
• Under 18 years old, £4.62per hour, £8,913per year
• 18 to 20 years old, £6.56per hour, £12,656per year
• 21 to 22 years old, £8.36per hour, £16,128per year
• 23 years and over, £8.91per hour, £17,189per year
