The Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle has a growth plan for Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust to serve South Tyneside, Sunderland and East Durham, with a total of 34 schools in the Trust by July 2022.

Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust was established in February 2016, currently there are 29 schools within the Trust with a schedule of additional schools joining each term. The details of each of the schools currently within the Trust can be found on our website www.bccet.org.uk

We are seeking to appoint three inspiring and enthusiastic teaching assistants who will join our team of highly motivated teachers, support staff and leaders who care about our children’s academic and pastoral development so that we make a difference to each one of them.

You will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.

You will also be required to assist the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Staff may also supervise whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers. The primary focus will be to maintain good order and to keep pupils on task.

Salary: £20,043 per annum pro rata - Band 4 Scale Point 6
Actual salary: £16,042.73 pa
