Further Information
The North of Tyne Combined Authority is looking for people with the drive to make a difference, an ability to think creatively, and a commitment to collaborative and inclusive ways of working.

The North of Tyne Combined Authority is a ground-breaking organisation, allowing the transfer of new powers and money from the Government to the North of Tyne. We are making an ambitious contribution to the lives of local people, with a clear priority to help the communities we serve to fulfil their true potential.

As the senior lead for all of NTCA’s poverty, inclusion and equality work you will bring both strategic and practical experience of policy formation and implementation. With a strong background in social and economic policy you will utilise your excellent programme management skills to develop and lead a number of programmes.

You will manage our multi-stakeholder Inclusive Economy Board as well as working directly with NTCA’s Cabinet and the Mayor for the North of Tyne to ensure NTCA’s activities deliver against our inclusive economic priorities.

You will support wider work to create a truly inclusive North of Tyne, as well as influencing NTCA’s overall growth and investment programme from an inclusive economy perspective. You will also lead our strategic approach to equalities ensuring we deliver against our Equality Objectives 2021-25.

With a natural flare for effective communications, you will be curious, collaborative and focused on making NTCA a leading voice in creating fairer, more equitable economic growth.
Relevant experience backed up by a keen interest in devolution is welcome, as is experience or awareness of working in a politically-led organisation.

At NTCA, we don’t just accept difference, we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our team, our mission, and our residents. NTCA is proud to embrace diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.

If you’re looking for a flexible approach to work, we are operating on a hybrid model, so we would be open to discussing this with you. However, if you are looking to relocate here, then that’s great too. By coming to work in the North of Tyne, you can enjoy a fulfilling job as well as a great quality of life, with some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside and beaches on your doorstep. Our flexible approach allows employees to have a great work-life-balance, with your wellbeing at its heart.

We believe in rewarding people for their productivity, so everyone at NTCA gets automatic enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme, a range of salary sacrifice options, a more open leave policy (in addition to your entitled leave of 25 days plus bank holidays) and a range of support for your wellbeing and work-life balance.

If you are interested in this opportunity, we would love to hear from you.

To arrange an informal discussion please email Leigh Mills at leigh.mills@northoftyne-ca.gov.uk
