Vacancies exist within Sunderland Council’s school meals service for Assistant Catering Supervisors. Applicants will need previous experience of working as a Cook / Chef / Assistant Chef within the food industry and have a cooking qualification (minimum 7061/2, NVQ 2 or equivalent).

This is a hands-on role involving assisting the school Catering Supervisor in cooking large quantities of food to a good standard as well as general catering duties such as serving customers, cleaning, paperwork etc. Good customer care skills are required and a friendly manner.

The posts are term time only and are a minimum 20 hour / week contract. The position will at times involve deputising the Catering Supervisor in their absence (enhanced rate of pay applies on such occasions along with a greater number of hours).

This post is exempt from the rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
