This is an exciting opportunity to work with small groups of children and play a significant part of their overall development, supporting their social, emotional and mental health needs.

Your daily work will focus on both therapeutic and academic interventions, working with individuals, small groups, and modelling and supporting in class groups. Whilst the ability to deliver interventions to develop reading skills is desirable, for the right candidate, we would provide full training on specific interventions. In return we would expect to see the delivery of structured, measurable intervention packages, with impact.

For an aspiring Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a proven track record of success in SEMH, teaching and/or interventions, we would consider an application and potential funding of a qualification pathway. This position would suit a candidate with experience of working with young people who display behaviour that challenges, supporting the learning of vulnerable pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH)

Positive behaviour management skills are essential in this role. It would suit an individual who is passionate about making a real difference to students’ life chances; helping them to return to mainstream school, college or apprenticeships. The ability to be creative and use imaginative flair to engage is essential, along with having resilience, drive, high expectations and a sense of humour.

Our team is described by Ofsted as “warm and caring”, this is created through our relational approach to learning. Our aim is to inspire students to achieve the best they can and to feel safe and happy in education.
