The North of Tyne Combined Authority is a ground-breaking organisation, allowing the transfer of new powers and money from the Government to the North of Tyne area. We are making an ambitious contribution to the lives of local people, businesses and transforming places. With a clear priority to accelerate the delivery of new homes, regenerate our places and maximise the opportunity for new infrastructure investment.

Do you want to contribute to creating great places across Newcastle, Northumberland, and North Tyneside, ensuring that brownfield land is brought forward for development and our highstreets have the best chance to thrive as part of post-pandemic recovery?

Can you imagine yourself being part of a team that’s responsible maximising the delivery of the Brownfield Housing Fund Programme and Highstreet Regeneration Programme? Are you an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills?

Then this might just be the perfect job for you.

As Project Manager you’ll manage the delivery of schemes as part of the Brownfield Housing Fund Programme, Highstreets Regeneration Programme and identified strategic Capital projects. Working with Local Authorities and partners to develop strong cases for investment, you will ensure that project plans are delivered to budget and within agreed timescales.

You’ll be a proactive self-starter who’s able to work with autonomy and be able to ‘get stuff done’ at pace. With a strong track record of developing and managing a portfolio of complex capital and/or revenue regeneration projects, you’ll be able to maximise funding investment, influence and help drive forward the delivery of successful regeneration schemes across the region.

You’ll certainly be able to manage your workload, your projects and be really organised. If you’d like to be part of a team that is critical to the growth of the region, then we really want to hear from you.

At NTCA, we don’t just accept difference, we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our team, our mission, and our residents. NTCA is proud to embrace diversity and equal opportunity in a serious way. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills. The more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.

If you’re looking for a flexible approach to work, we operate on a hybrid model, so we would be open to discussing this with you. However, if you are looking to relocate here, then that’s great too. By coming to work in the North of Tyne, you can enjoy a fulfilling job as well as a great quality of life, with some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside and beaches on your doorstep. Our flexible approach allows employees to have a great work-life-balance, with your wellbeing at its heart.

We believe in rewarding people for their productivity, so everyone at NTCA gets automatic enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme, a range of salary sacrifice options, a more open leave policy (in addition to your entitled leave of up to 31 days plus bank holidays) and a range of support for your wellbeing and work-life balance.

If you would like an informal discussion about this role, please email Heather Orton, Principal Housing and Infrastructure Manager, on heather.orton@northoftyne-ca.gov.uk.
